Challenging the CNA Exam in Florida
1. What does it mean to “challenge” the CNA exam in Florida?
Challenging the CNA exam means you can take the exam without completing the state-accredited 120-hour CNA training course. If you pass both the written and clinical skills portions, you will be certified just like someone who completed formal training.
2. Who is eligible to challenge the CNA exam?
You must be at least 18 years old or have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior healthcare experience or education is recommended but not required.
3. How many times can I challenge the exam?
You may attempt the CNA exam up to three times without taking the 120-hour course. After three failed attempts, you must complete a state-approved CNA training program.
4. What does the CNA exam consist of?
A written portion (multiple-choice questions) and a clinical skills evaluation, where you demonstrate hands-on nursing assistant skills
5. How should I prepare for the exam if I’m challenging it?

8. What happens after I pass the exam?
Once you pass both portions, you’ll receive your CNA certification and be listed on the Florida CNA Registry, allowing you to work legally as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
9. Can I get a refund after registering for the CNA Exam Prep course?
Refunds are not available once submissions—such as background checks or exam-related documents—have been completed.

11. What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule. We’ll do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs.
12. What happens if I miss my appointment without notifying you?
Missed appointments without prior notice may result in loss of your registration fee.
13. Are refunds available in emergency situations?
Yes, in cases of emergency or extenuating circumstances, refund or rescheduling requests may be considered. Documentation may be required.
14. Who is responsible for submitting correct background check information?
You are responsible for ensuring that all personal information submitted for your CNA background check is accurate. We are not liable for delays caused by incorrect details.
15. Can I get a tracking number for my background check submission?
Yes, a tracking number can be provided upon request.
Class D Security License
16. What are the age and legal eligibility criteria for a Class D security license in Florida?
You must be at least 18 years old and either:

A U.S. citizen or legal resident alien; or

Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
17. What training is required to obtain a Class D license?
You must complete 40 hours of professional training from an FDACS-licensed security officer school or facility.
Exceptions include:

18. Does Florida require a background check and fingerprinting for Class D applicants?
Yes. You must pass a criminal background check and submit electronic fingerprints through a state-approved LiveScan provider. Rapid Time Education is a state-approved provider and will complete your fingerprinting and photo as a part of your enrollment fee.
