Service Description
Rapid Time Education Center offers the APD‑approved Basic Medication Administration (BMA) Training for Direct Support Professionals, caregivers, and agency staff working in APD‑licensed settings. This course follows the official Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) curriculum and is taught by a certified Medication Administration Trainer. This training provides participants with the essential knowledge and hands‑on practice needed to safely assist individuals with medications while meeting Florida regulatory requirements. The course covers proper medication handling and storage, understanding labels and physician orders, safe administration techniques, completing Medication Observation Records (MORs), identifying medication errors, and recognizing side effects or adverse reactions. Legal and ethical responsibilities for direct care staff are also reviewed to ensure compliance and promote client safety. The class includes instructor‑led teaching, skills demonstrations, and competency‑based practice. Participants must attend the full session, pass the written exam, and complete the required skills validation. Upon successful completion, students receive an APD‑approved Medication Administration Training Certificate, valid for employment in licensed residential, supported living, adult day training, and other APD‑regulated programs.
